优质PC桶具有良好的耐热性和耐低温性，外观光洁度较高、桶身比较硬，手按不动，不易变形，看上去外观和纹路比较清晰和透明。由于优质PC桶强度达到国家标准，其空桶以任意角度从三米的高度跌落水泥地均不会破裂，使用寿命在80-120多次。PET桶桶体看上去比较模糊，不是很透明，高温下极易变形，旧的PET桶表面坑坑洼洼。另外，两者还有一个最大的差别就是PC桶底部有PC字样、QS认证标志和编号；而PET桶底部则是PET字样，没有QS认证标志。
